Simone Riley – pledges to Inspire Future Leaders
Our aim at Changing Education is to #inspirefutureleaders; by giving students a real insight into the various industries and paths they could follow and to open their eyes and imagination to the potential job opportunities which are available.
We are continuing to use 2021 as an opportunity to showcase some fantastic individuals who have given us a true insight into their profession and the journey they have taken to get to where they are today.
In today’s industry insight interview video, hosted by our very own Amos Madra, we hear from the brilliant Simone Riley – a radio presenter for BBC Manchester.
BBC Radio Manchester is the BBC’s local radio station serving Greater Manchester. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays.
Simone is a 2 x Award Winning Presenter of the Year for the BE Award. She is the Saturday Breakfast Show Presenter on BBC Manchester and has her own show on Legacy FM, Manchester’s African Caribbean community station. She is also a DJ and host.
Simone gives us a real insight into what being a radio presenter really entails and shares some advice and tips with us all.
Simone believes it’s important to “be yourself, you need to let your personality shine – your voice your accent, that is what people want to connect with and that’s what people want to relate to”. Also, “don’t turn down an opportunity – you don’t know where it will lead you to’’. Wise words from Simone that we can all take on board – whatever career path we choose.
